Hey there, I’m Renee, a wedding photographer for the wild at heart. I am a photographer of authentic love, connection and wild and free souls.
I wish I could put into words the joy I feel when capturing someone’s love. I believe a wedding is all about two wild hearts, telling the world they can’t live without each other. I am drawn to the adventurous souls, the dreamers, the ones who want to dance barefoot on the grass and run around at sunset chasing that last bit of light.
My story is a long one, but I won’t bore you with all the details.
I am a dreamer and creative who loves fiercely and has a love for romance. I have a wanderers soul and I get a major itch every few months if I haven’t booked any trips or getaways.
I stumbled into photography when I was 14 years old when my Aunty gave me an old Pentax film camera that she had owned for almost 20 years. I was fascinated by it, wondering how many stories it had told so far. I started using it in art class at high school and developed my own prints in the dark room there. I fell in love with photography from the moment I picked up that camera.
However, my career didn’t start off as a photographer. I was in the corporate world for 18 years before I finally decided enough was enough. I needed to follow my passion and fill my cup. The decision to move into photography full time was scary and exhilarating all at the same time. Who knew that following your dreams could be so rewarding on so many levels?
I have a documentary approach to shooting.
Magic happens when you least expect it and that’s how I love to shoot. It’s the in between moments I look for. When you look back at the photos, I want you to be transported back to that moment, so you can feel the magic and your connection. That’s the goal, immortalizing your story.
I also have a passion for pregnancy and capturing the beauty in the female form. Creating life is one of the most amazing things in this world, and what the female body is capable of inspires me. You can view my maternity work over at Renee Joanne Photography x
