I got together with Storybook & Co. to ask them all the important questions about wedding planning and hiring a professional. Enjoy!
1. Tell everyone a little bit about yourself and your business.
Hi there, my name is Kirsty! I am the creative director behind Storybook & Co. Having been in the chaos of events since I was a little girl, I fell in love with the creative and organisational side of weddings and events. I decided a few years ago that it was time for a permanent change from my usual finance management career, and with that, Storybook & Co. was born. Bound to be nothing short of incredible, we provide wedding and event planning, event management and coordination, as well as styling services to all of our clients. We pride ourselves on our expert industry knowledge, attention to detail and professionalism which allows us to deliver the best quality services to each individual.
2. How big is the Storybook & Co team?
At the moment, it’s quiet here in the office. Our business was thrown into chaos due to COVID-19. Normally there are a few of us out on site, depending on how many events we have going on that day. We also regularly have interns rotating throughout the company. We show them the ropes and give them a real taste of what the event industry is like. It gets pretty crazy here, but it’s a lot of fun – I am incredibly grateful for my crew!
3. How do most couples find your business?
Our clients find us through so many different channels! Whether it be at an event, google, our website, social media or just word of mouth from previous clients.
4. What advice would you give to couples looking to hire a wedding planner?
Find someone you’re comfortable with, because they become your go to person for EVERYTHING. As a wedding planner, we take on so many different roles for our couples. You have to remember that a wedding planner is also there to keep you on track, so you have to make sure you choose someone you are comfortable with approaching and vice versa. Your wedding planner will become part of the family!
5. What services do you offer and what can couples expect when hiring you?
We provide wedding and event planning, event management and coordination as well as independent styling services. We pride ourselves on our expert industry knowledge, attention to detail and professionalism. We promise to always deliver the best quality services to each couple planning their day!
6. What is one piece of advice you would give to any newly engaged couple?
Work out your budget and guest list before jumping into anything. Without having guidelines to work within, you make your decision making process a lot harder for yourself. I would also say remember to BREATHE and take it easy. It is such a wonderful thing to decide to spend the rest of your life with someone but give yourself time, don’t rush the planning because it will cause unnecessary stress on yourselves!
